One Direct just transformed the Switch 2's year: Star Fox in June, Kingdom Hearts 4 and Dragon's Dogma 2 in October, Ocarina of Time for the holidays. Every confirmed date in one place.
Before this morning, the Switch 2's second half of 2026 looked quiet. One Nintendo Direct later, it's the most stacked release calendar in the console's short life. Here is every confirmed date, in order, with what you need to know about each.

June 25 — Star Fox
Sixteen days away, with a free demo available now. The first new mainline entry in a decade, with Arwing, Landmaster, and Submarine gameplay plus multiplayer. Demo saves transfer to the full game.
July 2 — Rhythm Heaven Groove
The cult-favorite rhythm series returns with over 80 minigames and 30 co-op multiplayer modes. Rhythm Heaven has been dormant since 2016's Megamix — this is the deepest entry the series has ever shipped.
August — Final Fantasy XIV Early Access
Square Enix's MMO lands on Nintendo hardware for the first time. Early access starts in August, and if the Switch 2's portable performance holds up, this becomes the default way to run dailies from the couch.

October 8–9 — Kingdom Hearts 4 and Dragon's Dogma 2
The single most brutal back-to-back in the calendar. Kingdom Hearts 4 arrives natively on Switch 2 with the entire saga in tow, then Capcom's Dragon's Dogma 2 port lands literally the next day. Two enormous RPGs, twenty-four hours apart.
October 22 — Switch 2 Sports and Final Fantasy Resonance
Nintendo's Wii Sports successor shares a date with Square Enix's HD-2D RPG. Switch 2 Sports is the family-friendly system seller for the holiday shopping season; Resonance is the prestige pick for the Octopath Traveler crowd. Different audiences, same wallet.
Holiday 2026 — Ocarina of Time Remake
The headliner. A full remake of the highest-rated game in history, timed to Zelda's 40th anniversary and the Switch 2's first full holiday season. No firm date yet — expect Nintendo to announce it once the October wave clears.
The Translation
Switch 2 is going from "quiet" to "absolutely packed" in the span of three months. Six major first-party and third-party releases between late June and late October, with the biggest remake in Nintendo history closing the year. If you were waiting for the moment the Switch 2 justified itself, this calendar is it.
The only real problem is the one Nintendo wants you to have: there is no way to play all of this. Choose wisely — or don't, and let your backlog become a monument to the best second half Nintendo has shipped in years.
