Indiana Jones and the Great Circle launched on Switch 2 today. Directive 8020 scored 72 on Metacritic — divisive but Supermassive's best Dark Pictures yet. Subnautica 2 Early Access is Thursday. And Forza Horizon 6 Premium opens Saturday.
May is picking up speed. Two significant releases landed today, one of the year's most anticipated Early Access launches is 48 hours away, and Forza Horizon 6 Premium Early Access opens this Saturday. Here's everything you need to know.
Indiana Jones and the Great Circle Is Now on Nintendo Switch 2
Indiana Jones and the Great Circle arrived on Switch 2 today — marking the first major Xbox-owned game to port specifically to Nintendo's hardware. The title launched on Xbox Series X|S and PC in December 2024, came to PS5 in April 2025, and now arrives on Nintendo's platform with the full game plus The Order of Giants DLC included in a complete package.
Machine Games' acclaimed action-adventure puts you in Indy's boots in 1937, taking you from Marshall College to the Vatican, Egypt, and Sukhothai as you piece together a globe-spanning mystery. It was one of 2024's highest-rated games. Nothing has diminished it since.
For Switch 2 owners who've been watching Xbox and PC players rave about this one for over a year: your time is now. The Switch 2 hardware handles it in a way the original Switch never could have managed. If you haven't played it, this is one of the best things on the platform right now.
Directive 8020 Launches to a Divided but Positive Critical Response
Directive 8020 has a Metacritic rating of 72 and an OpenCritic score of 76 — the newest entry in Supermassive Games' Dark Pictures Anthology and, by most accounts, the most ambitious one yet.
Set aboard the colony ship Cassiopeia, the cinematic sci-fi horror game places players against a shapeshifting alien threat on the distant planet Tau Ceti f. Lashana Lynch stars as astronaut Brianna Young. The game features Supermassive's trademark branching narrative with a new Turning Points mechanic — you can rewind to earlier story moments and explore alternative paths, making the decision tree more accessible without removing its tension. The Thing-influenced paranoia runs deep: nobody aboard Cassiopeia knows who has been replicated by the alien organism.
"Directive 8020 is by far the best Dark Pictures game, embracing more stealth gameplay, making the branching story feel seamless, and setting a new bar for the genre." — Multiple reviewers
The critical split is real. Some outlets scored it 8s and 9s. Others hit 5s and 6s, citing weak dialogue and tiresome stealth sections. But even the lower scores acknowledge this as a step forward for the series. Available now on PS5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC. Not on Game Pass.
