Everything happening in gaming today: Blood of the Dawnwalker locks in September 3, Capcom confirms Pragmata 1M and RE Requiem 7M, Trepang2 hits Game Pass, Saros launches in less than 24 hours, and Diablo 4 day 2 rolls on.
Wednesday Gaming Roundup — April 29, 2026: Blood of Dawnwalker Sept 3, Capcom Millions, Saros Tomorrow
Wednesday. The end of April is visible from here. Here is everything that matters in gaming today and where everything stands heading into the biggest release day of 2026 tomorrow.
The Blood of the Dawnwalker — September 3, 2026
Yesterday's Road to Launch stream confirmed the date: the Witcher 3 director's vampire RPG set in plague-era 14th-century Europe launches September 3, 2026 on PS5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC. Pre-orders are live now — Standard Edition $69.99, Eclipse Edition $79.99 with digital compendium, soundtrack, and comic book.
The new story trailer revealed the game's central tension: Coen has 30 in-game days to rescue his family from vampire lord Brencis before a coronation ceremony consumes them. The 30-day clock is mechanical, not just narrative — it shapes how you spend your time in Vale Sangora's open world. Press hands-on is expected in June.
Capcom's Historic 2026 by the Numbers
Two milestones confirmed this week: Pragmata sold over 1 million units in two days — extraordinary for a brand-new IP — and Resident Evil Requiem has now shipped 7 million worldwide. Together with Monster Hunter Stories 3's strong performance, Capcom has now had three critical and commercial hits in four months. Onimusha: Way of the Sword, which the studio confirmed is in its final stages, is next. Capcom said "we're not done with 2026 yet."
Trepang2 Joins Game Pass Today
The F.E.A.R.-inspired supernatural FPS from 2023 that built a devoted cult following on PC is now on Xbox Game Pass. If you haven't played it: this is one of the best pure shooters of recent years, just released to almost no marketing. Download it today if you have a subscription.
Diablo 4: Lord of Hatred — Day 2
Warlock builds are already broken (in the best way). The War Plans endgame is earning genuine praise from players who expected it to be another layer of complexity to navigate and found it to be the most intuitive Diablo 4 endgame system yet. Server queues from launch are completely resolved. A Blizzard hotfix for the talisman tab display bug is expected today. 89 Metacritic is holding. Mephisto's Skovos campaign is being called the best story Diablo 4 has told.
Saros — Less Than 24 Hours
Digital Deluxe players have been inside Carcosa for 48 hours. The reactions match the 88 Metacritic / 92 OpenCritic scores exactly. Pre-load is live. General launch tomorrow, April 30 — five years to the day after Returnal. West Coast US unlock is midnight tonight. UK players at 8am BST.
NTE: Neverness to Everness — Launched Today
Hotta Studio's free-to-play urban open-world RPG went live globally today on PC, PS5, iOS, Android, and Mac. Cross-platform, cross-progression, no cost to start. Buried under the week's bigger releases but worth knowing exists if anime RPGs are your thing.
Tomorrow's Priority List
For PlayStation players: Saros at midnight.
For Xbox / Game Pass players: Inkonbini at launch, Heroes of Might & Magic Olden Era in Game Preview.
For fighting game players: Invincible VS alongside Saros.
For everyone: the week's final chapter opens at midnight.
